Main duties of the job

In this role, you will:

  • Embed Secure by Design principles across projects and operational services
  • Identify, assess and communicate cyber risks in a clear and practical way
  • Provide expert, proportionate security advice across technical and strategic initiatives
  • Lead security assessments of systems, applications, and suppliers
  • Support change management by ensuring risks are identified and mitigated
  • Deliver engaging cyber security training and awareness initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders to strengthen resilience

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Cyber Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring the protection of HUC computer systems, network, and data from security threats such as cyberattacks, unauthorized access, and data breaches. This role involves monitoring security systems, analysing vulnerabilities, responding to incidents, and implementing security measures that ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.

Main responsibilities:

  • Monitor networks and systems for security breaches, unusual activity, and potential threats.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify security weaknesses.
  • Implement, manage, and maintain security tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM tools, antivirus software, and encryption solutions.
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents, including forensic analysis and incident reporting.
  • Develop, update, and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT and ServiceDesk teams to strengthen security posture across infrastructure, software, and cloud environments.
  • Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Provide security training and awareness programs for employees.
  • Stay current with emerging cyber threats, technologies, and best practices.
  • Assist with compliance requirements.

Further experiences

  • CEH, Security+, CISSP, CISM OSCP / OSCE Cloud security certifications (AWS Security, Azure Security)
  • Experience handling real-world security incidents Penetration testing Knowledge of malware analysis and attack techniques Familiarity with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, PCI-DSS)

Experience

  • Proven Cyber Security Role experience
  • Hands‑on experience with security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, EDR, vulnerability scanners)
