About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Site Manager to oversee the safe and successful delivery of projects across a diverse client portfolio. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

The successful candidate will have a proven background within Rail and Civil Engineering projects, alongside experience in construction, M&E, FM, or critical environments. You will be responsible for managing site activities from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

As a key member of the project delivery team, you will work closely with Project Managers, contractors, and clients, acting as a trusted partner and ensuring compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of project works across multiple client sites.
  • Act as Principal Contractor under the CDM Regulations 2015 and Building Safety Act 2022.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements.
  • Lead site inductions, toolbox talks, inspections, audits, and permit-to-work processes.
  • Ensure full compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards and procedures.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to safety and quality expectations.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Oversee project documentation, RAMS, permits, progress reports, and site records.
  • Coordinate project handovers and ensure all commissioning and close‑out documentation is completed.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners.
  • Support Project Managers in programme delivery, cost control and resource planning.
  • Identify additional project opportunities within existing client portfolios and support business growth initiatives.

About You

Essential Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ site management experience within Rail, Civils, Construction, M&E, FM, or Critical Environments.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering Rail and/or Civil Engineering projects.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work streams on live operational sites.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments with stringent health and safety requirements.

Essential Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and site management principles.
  • Sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to manage project priorities effectively.
  • Mechanical and/or Electrical knowledge would be advantageous.

Essential Qualifications

  • Recognised technical qualification in Construction, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Valid CSCS Card.

Desirable Qualifications

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
  • NEBOSH Certificate.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • CDM Regulations 2015 training and experience.
  • Rail industry certifications and competencies.
