Heat Pump Technical Engineer required for our client, a well-established renewable heating specialist based near Ely, Cambridgeshire. With over 14 years’ experience, they design, install, and maintain heat pumps, solar PV, battery storage, underfloor heating, ventilation, and wider low‑carbon heating systems. Responsibilities
- Support the Sales Manager with technical customer quotations for heat pump and renewable energy projects.
- Review and price incoming tenders for the Sales Manager to quote.
- Carry out heat loss calculations from plans and technical drawings.
- Assist with basic solar PV set‑ups for quotation purposes.
- Carry out final site surveys and technical assessments for renewable energy installations.
- Support the Project Manager by responding to engineer and installer queries.
- Provide technical solutions to installation challenges and project queries.
- Audit completed jobs to ensure installations are delivered in line with company standards and industry regulations.
- Ensure all technical documentation is accurate and maintained correctly.
- Liaise with customers, installers, engineers, and internal teams to support smooth project delivery.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Previous experience within heating, plumbing, renewable energy, or heat pump installations.
- Strong technical understanding of heat pump systems and low-temperature heating design.
- Ability to carry out heat loss calculations from plans.
- Experience reading and interpreting drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication skills when dealing with customers, engineers, and internal teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage technical documentation accurately.
- Experience in a technical support, estimating, design, surveying, or project support role advantageous.
Remuneration
- Salary £50,000 – £60,000.
- Company vehicle.
