Job title: Piping Engineer
Job Type: Contract
Start date: Immediate
Duration: Up to Dec 2026 (Extension possible)
Pay rate: Up to £375 PAYE / £505 Umbrella per day
Location: Bridgwater, Somerset
Hours of work: 5 days per week
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver Mechanical and Piping Construction Work Packs, supporting construction activities within the nuclear industry.
- Review technical documentation and conduct constructability assessments.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, SMEs and stakeholders to resolve technical queries.
- Define work scopes and ensure compliance with nuclear safety, quality and project requirements.
- Support installation planning, sequencing and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure all documentation complies with nuclear safety, quality and project standards.
- Identify materials, temporary works and other enablers required for construction delivery.
- Maintain configuration control and keep documentation updated throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Experience delivering Mechanical and Piping Construction Work Packs.
- Background in highly regulated industries (nuclear preferred) or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of piping installation, constructability reviews and construction methodologies.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documents.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Proficient in Navisworks and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organisational, planning and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of configuration management and document control processes.
