Mechanical Design Engineer Role

Role – Mechanical Design Engineer

Location – Norfolk

Working hours – Monday to Friday – 8.30am – 5pm

Capacity of role – Permanent position

Salary – Up to £40,000 per annum

Our client is a well-respected manufacturer who is currently looking to add to their drawing office with a Mechanical Design Engineer.

Main duties

• Generation of detailed manufacturing drawings for internal and external production
• Creation of bill of materials for special product and procurement as required
• Creation to overall design and assembly drawings to define customer specifications
• Customer liaison to ensure the smooth production process
• Liaising with all departments to ensure delivery times are met and upheld
• Continuous improvement of existing product range

Candidate attributes

• A sound background in mechanical engineering, with good knowledge of mechanisms, fabricated assemblies and sheet metalwork
• The ability to quickly and effectively design customised variants from a standard product range
• The ability to prioritise workload and deal efficiently with multiple projects
• Excellent working knowledge of Solidworks 3D CAD or similar
• Able to produce effective, detailed manufacturing information on time
• Working knowledge of Machinery Standards and relevant legislation
• Able to work as part of a small team
• Excellent communication skills
