Commissioning Engineers – Transmission Substations (132/220/400kV)
Location: Creag Dhubh, Scotland
Contract Duration: July 2026 – April 2027
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Spencer Ogden is seeking 2 experienced Commissioning Engineers to support a major transmission substation project at Creag Dhubh.
We are looking for commissioning professionals with proven experience working on 132kV, 220kV, and 400kV transmission substations and a strong background in testing, protection systems, and commissioning activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Testing and commissioning of CTs and VTs
- Checking and validating protection schemes, including busbar protection
- Interface testing of transformers, circuit breakers (CBs), reactors, GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear)
- Conducting primary injection testing
- Conducting secondary injection testing
- Supporting commissioning activities in line with project and safety requirements
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience commissioning high-voltage transmission substations (132kV-400kV)
- Strong understanding of protection and control systems
- Experience with primary and secondary injection testing
- Ability to work independently in a commissioning environment
- Relevant electrical engineering qualifications and authorisations preferred
