Job Description:

Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: Bristol

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000

YT Technologies is partnering with Domin, a high‑growth technology business aiming to redefine motion control through additive manufacturing, fluid mechanics, and high‑speed electric machinery. We are building next‑generation advanced hydraulic systems.

We are looking for a highly capable Senior Electrical Engineer to take ownership of the electrical architecture behind Domin’s test rigs and engineering infrastructure.

In this hands‑on engineering role, you will enable the development, validation, and manufacture of next‑generation hydraulic technology and directly support equipment that allows our engineering teams to test confidently and scale effectively. This is a fast‑moving product development environment where speed, flexibility, and technical judgment matter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the electrical architecture, standards, and engineering quality across Domin’s test rigs and development infrastructure.
  • Define, design, review, and approve electrical systems for rigs and development equipment, including schematics, panel layouts, and interfaces, and guide the installation, commissioning, and debugging process.
  • Deliver electrical systems that are safe, maintainable, scalable, and suitable for CE marking, while maintaining appropriate development speed and flexibility.
  • Work closely with mechanical, controls, software, manufacturing, and product engineering teams to develop high‑quality systems.
  • Support upgrading, debugging, and problem solving across the systems.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 6 years’ experience designing electrical systems or equipment within an engineering or industrial environment.
  • Strong experience producing high‑quality electrical schematics, documentation, and manufacturing information for low‑voltage industrial systems and equipment (230/400 V AC).
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical safety principles and machinery‑related electrical standards.
  • Experience designing electrical systems that balance engineering robustness with practical usability and development speed.
  • Strong technical judgment and the ability to make pragmatic engineering decisions under uncertainty.
  • Ability to independently own technical problems and deliver solutions from concept through implementation within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • High levels of accountability, ownership, and attention to detail.

Why Domin?

They believe great design leads to reliable, scalable systems. In return for your expertise, they offer a culture built on transparency and professional growth.

Benefits

  • Work‑Life Balance: A 9‑day fortnight (every other Friday off).
  • Commitment to Growth: Significant investment in professional development.
  • Comprehensive Package: 5% employer pension contribution and a highly competitive salary.
  • The Environment: A modern, positive culture with breakfast clubs, social events, and a shared mission to disrupt a global industry.
