Job Description:

An Electrical Engineer is required for a large multi-million pound project in Plymouth. Based on site full time you will be part of an exciting new team responsible for maintaining the building.

Summary of duties

  • Maintain the safe and effective operation of Mechanical and Electrical building services, systems, and equipment on site
  • Carry out routine inspections, servicing, maintenance, and record‑keeping in accordance with relevant procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements – SFG20, NHS HTM’s, and all Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements
  • Support the reliability, availability, and performance of equipment and infrastructure
  • Undertake repairs and maintenance (PPM) activities within the scope of training, competence, and authorisation
  • Complete planned maintenance activities and ensure all associated documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requests and equipment faults in a timely and professional manner
  • Perform duties in accordance with organisational policies, procedures, and applicable legislation
  • Participate in out‑of‑hours support arrangements where required
  • Maintain accurate records and complete work‑related documentation promptly
  • Carry out all tasks safely, professionally, and efficiently
  • Adhere to health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements at all times

What’s needed to apply!

  • Relevant electrical qualifications
  • Ideally you will have a background working on healthcare /NHS projects with an understanding of the regulations and compliance required
  • Practical experience in a related engineering or maintenance role
  • Working knowledge of building services and associated systems
  • Experience carrying out inspection, maintenance, fault‑finding, and repair activities
  • Familiarity with participating in on‑call or out‑of‑hours support arrangements
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices
  • Strong communication and customer‑facing skills
  • Proactive approach to problem‑solving and troubleshooting
  • Ability to identify issues, determine appropriate solutions, and complete repairs effectively
