Position Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
Job Details
This is a permanent, full‑time post of 40 hours per week. The job plan is negotiable and will be agreed with the Clinical Director. All full‑time consultants receive 10 PAs: 8 PAs in Direct Clinical Care (DCC) and 2 PAs for core Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) such as CPD, audit, clinical governance, appraisal, revalidation, job planning, internal routine communication and management meetings. Cover for study leave and holidays will be provided from within existing consultants.
Responsibilities
- Provide a full range of Consultant services as agreed with colleagues, including in‑patient and out‑patient management of patients.
- Support clinical activity elsewhere across Greater Glasgow and Clyde when required.
- Participate in SPA duties: CPD, audit, clinical governance, appraisal, revalidation, job planning and routine communication.
