SERVICE MANAGER

TUXFORD, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE

£50,000 – £55,000 + BONUS + PENSION + HEALTHCARE + DEATH IN SERVICE

Are you from a Refrigeration or HVAC background and understand what it takes to keep a service operation running smoothly?

We’re looking for a hands‑on Service Manager to take ownership of a growing service function within a specialist engineering business serving food production, manufacturing and industrial customers across the UK.

This isn’t a role where you’ll sit behind a desk all day looking at spreadsheets. You’ll be at the centre of the operation – planning engineers, coordinating breakdowns and PPMs, speaking with customers, supporting the service team and helping build a trusted network of subcontractors.

Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll play a key role in shaping how the service department develops as the business continues to grow.

The Role

  • Manage the day‑to‑day service operation from the Tuxford office
  • Plan and coordinate reactive breakdowns, servicing and PPM activity
  • Support and manage field‑based engineers
  • Act as the main escalation point for customers and service issues
  • Develop and manage subcontractor relationships across the UK
  • Ensure jobs are planned, completed and closed efficiently
  • Support stock, compliance and service reporting activities
  • Work closely with the leadership team to improve service delivery

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous Service Management, Service Supervisor or Lead Engineer experience
  • Refrigeration or HVAC industry background
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Comfortable managing engineers and dealing directly with customers
  • Understanding of F‑Gas requirements and refrigeration systems
  • Practical, hands‑on approach with a willingness to get involved when needed
