Overview
Project Manager role at QinetiQ Boscombe Down site. The role involves developing, procuring, and integrating systems onto test and evaluation ranges, and delivering trials, training, and operational exercises.
Day‑to‑day work includes testing, researching, supplying, preparing, and sustaining client platforms and weapon systems for operational use, providing test, exercise, modelling, analysis services and laboratory facilities in safe, realistic, and instrumented environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop clear and compelling customer proposals.
- Deliver projects safely, on time, within cost and quality targets.
- Produce and maintain robust project plans and resource/cost schedules (PPM) for project management and expenditure forecasting.
- Provide regular, open, honest, and timely project reporting using corporate tools in line with financial reporting requirements.
Essential Experience
- Track record of successful delivery of projects and programmes to defined cost, timescale, and budget.
- Ability to decompose complex issues to an appropriate level of detail in a methodical manner.
- First‑hand experience of procurement and tendering processes (e.g., specification production, supplier selection criteria, and contracting).
- Experience in systems engineering disciplines.
Essential Qualifications
- Industry‑recognised qualification such as Prince2, AMP, or PMP.
Eligibility
Applicants must be eligible for SC clearance.
Location and Hours
Based at Boscombe Down site, 37 hours per week with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Expected travel to Aberporth, West Freugh, and the Hebrides.
