Our stack runs on AWS as a set of distributed applications using Kubernetes, with microservice‑led architecture. We also use Kafka for streaming and PACT for contract testing.

  • Design and implement high‑throughput, low‑latency services handling billions in FX transactions.
  • Lead technical discussions around hexagonal architecture, event‑driven patterns, and distributed systems design.
  • Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices for the team.
  • Own your domain end‑to‑end with clear service boundaries and independent deployment paths.
  • Collaborate with Treasury, Trading, and Platform teams across the organization.

Benefits

  • Cloud‑related tools and services such as Docker, Kubernetes, ElasticSearch, log management systems, and Datadog APM.
  • API specifications conforming to the OpenAPI (Swagger) standard.
  • Large SQL databases (e.g., MySQL) for persistence; familiarity with SQL and complex queries.
  • Infrastructure automation via Terraform and Docker, with knowledge of AWS.
  • Testing approaches including TDD, BDD, and contract testing with frameworks such as JUnit, RSpec, and Cucumber.
  • Able to work in an Agile environment following the Spotify-style Squads and Tribes model.
  • Experience delivering production‑ready code with high quality and reliability.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • 2+ years of building microservices with Java.
  • Proficient in additional programming languages, such as Ruby or Scala.

  • Ability to manage and work with contractors and outsourced teams.
  • Experience building software for the financial domain, especially in risk.
  • Agile experience and familiarity with its principles.
  • Strong SQL knowledge and ability to write complex queries.
  • Hands‑on experience in a DevOps environment or a passion for working in this way.
  • Proven delivery of well‑tested, scalable, fault‑tolerant, and performant solutions.
  • Pragmatic approach to solutions and delivery of technical projects.
  • Comfortable reviewing code of peers and driving change in a distributed environment.
