Salary

£50,354 to £60,036, including a base salary, skills payment and a concessionary payment of £2,758. A one‑off recruitment bonus of £3,500 is payable in two instalments (£1,750 on arrival and £1,750 after probation). A future skills assessment may add £9,766 to the salary.

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer, you play a pivotal role in solving mission‑critical challenges. You contribute to the architecture and design of new and existing systems, promote best practices, and deliver high‑quality software solutions. You bring enthusiasm for new engineering techniques and act as a technical expert or mentor within a high‑performing group.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable software solutions.• Mentor and guide junior engineers.• Promote and implement best practices across teams.• Collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.• Lead or participate in high‑performance engineering initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a software engineer, preferably in security or site reliability engineering.• Experience with big‑data technologies and cloud platforms (required for Cheltenham roles).• Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams.• Ability to mentor and collaborate within a fast‑paced, innovative environment.

Training and Development
