Environmental Compliance Lead (Full time, Permanent)
Location – Drax Power Station, Selby. Hybrid working & travel across the UK required. Closing date: 6 July.
Key responsibilities
- Support environmental compliance activities at Drax Generation sites (Drax Power Station, Cruachan, Galloway, Lanark, and the Open Cycle Gas Turbine power stations).
- Ensure Drax Generation assets continue to be a sector leader in environmental compliance and performance through monitoring, reporting, education, advice, and guidance to operational teams.
- Provide guidance and support to the business to ensure environmental permit compliance is considered within the business strategy and deliver strategic change alongside engineering teams to deliver compliance by design.
- Support development of new assets as required.
- Build internal and external relationships to ensure environmental, planning and permitting considerations are known at the earliest opportunity in projects.
- Assess existing permits across England, Scotland and Wales and quickly understand their obligations while building long‑lasting relationships with environmental regulators.
Qualifications
- Strong background in environmental regulation and solid experience reporting against permit conditions within a large industrial/combustion plant industry.
- Experience with English, Scottish, Welsh and UK wide regulations is a bonus.
- Strong relationship building skills, quickly earning the trust and buy‑in of internal and external stakeholders.
- Scientific or environmental degree would be beneficial but proven experience in a similar role is more important.
