An exciting opportunity has arisen within Doncaster Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Care Group, Acute Directorate for a Matron.
The post is currently available to cover areas across Adult Mental Health, Crisis Services and Older People Services. The Acute Matron post is an essential role in promoting leadership across our Acute Directorate.
We are currently seeking confident, proactive professional leaders who will contribute to our vision for the future of the Acute Directorate. Managerial experience and an understanding of leading and managing a service is an essential part of the role. Applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills that will enable them to challenge, motivate, influence and inspire colleagues at all levels.
Our care group has an excellent track record for managing healthy flow through our wards and maintaining no out‑of‑area patients since September 2025, and this will be a key focus for the Matron role, working closely with our Flow colleagues. The postholder will be a collaborative, inclusive and compassionate leader with values and behaviours that inspire high standards of care and pride in the profession.
In conjunction with the Care Group senior leadership team, the postholder will create a positive safety culture, where the environment is collaboratively crafted, created, and nurtured so that everybody (individual staff, teams, patients, families, and carers) can flourish to ensure the best, safe, quality care by:

- Enabling and empowering speaking up by all
