SQL Developer

Salary: £45,000 – 55,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong experience with SQL Server and T‑SQL in production
• Proven ability to optimise query performance on large datasets
• Deep understanding of execution plans and indexing
• Experience troubleshooting blocking, deadlocks, and slow queries
• Solid understanding of transactions and isolation levels
• Strong data modelling and schema design experience
• Experience working on business‑critical systems

Responsibilities

• Optimising complex T‑SQL queries across large datasets
• Designing and maintaining effective indexing strategies
• Analysing execution plans and resolving performance bottlenecks
• Investigating and fixing production issues, including blocking, deadlocks, and slow queries
• Improving database schema design and data integrity
• Supporting safe and efficient database changes and deployments
• Collaborating with engineers to ensure efficient data access patterns
