Salary: £80,000 – 80,000 per year

Requirements

• Deep expertise in the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including AKS and distributed systems
• Strong understanding of security, IAM, networking, and database architecture
• Proven experience designing and troubleshooting complex, distributed systems
• Experience supporting high-scale SaaS platforms in production environments
• Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps, Docker, Terraform, Bash, Packer, and Ansible
• Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code and automation principles
• Excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking
• Ability to balance technical excellence with business impact and cost considerations
• Effective time management and prioritisation skills

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of secure, performant, and supportable Azure infrastructure architectures
• Contribute to and evolve reference architectures and reusable design patterns
• Translate business and product requirements into scalable and resilient technical solutions
• Embed observability, resilience, and security by design
• Collaborate closely with Product Architects to shape and challenge design decisions
• Provide expert guidance to ensure solutions are robust, cost‑effective, and supportable
• Ensure architectural consistency and alignment with best practice
• Design cloud‑native solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including AKS and distributed application platforms
• Ensure designs are scalable, highly available, and cost‑optimised
• Enable strong cost governance and reporting capabilities
• Work closely with engineering teams, development leads, and technical architects
• Ensure infrastructure changes align with standards, processes, and a customer‑first mindset
• Support project teams through the full lifecycle, from design through to delivery
• Drive adoption of modern infrastructure tooling and automation practices
• Influence and improve architectural standards and ways of working
• Share knowledge and mentor others within the team

About the role

We are hiring an experienced Azure Cloud Architect for a hybrid role with occasional office presence, based in the UK. You will help shape the infrastructure behind our high‑stakes, high‑volume SaaS products, working closely with Product Architects and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, resilient, and cost‑efficient cloud solutions.
