Main Duties

This is a varied role where you’ll work closely with clients and colleagues, providing high-quality accounting and taxation support. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Preparing personal and corporate tax computations and returns
  • Providing bookkeeping and management accounting services across a range of clients
  • Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns and supporting clients with their VAT obligations
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records for clients
  • F iling Companies House and HM Revenue & Customs documentation on behalf of clients
  • Supporting clients with day-to-day accounting queries and helping build strong working relationships
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with internal procedures, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Providing general administrative support to Partners, Managers, and the wider office team as required

Attributes, Skills, Experience and Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who is organised, client-focused, and keen to continue developing their career in practice. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Experience working at Accounts Technician or Semi-Senior level within an accountancy practice
  • AAT qualified however part-qualified or qualified by experience is also considered.
  • Previous experience preparing accounts for limited companies and unincorporated businesses
  • A positive, friendly, and approachable manner
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently when required
  • A professional, discreet, and team-oriented attitude
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Xero and Quickbooks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to present information clearly and professionally in emails, reports, and client correspondence
  • Up to 36.25 hours / 5 days per week (part time, flexible and hybrid working is available).
  • 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays increasing to 25 days plus bank holidays after 3 years’ service.
  • Annual salary review.
