Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to collaborate with our Regional Europe & UK team, driving data‑driven and innovative growth decisions and leading the team in delivering value to our customers by developing the product within Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain high‑performance, scalable tools and services utilizing Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, cloud technologies, etc.
  • Build account‑level features such as tax payments or savings account products for European markets.
  • Collaborate with product managers to develop business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers, offer technical guidance, and conduct code reviews.
  • Drive architectural decisions and technical strategy for the Regional Expansion Tribe.
  • Contribute to engineering culture through knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Work with product team on customer interviews, gather quantitative and qualitative data, and build solutions based on insights.
  • Document and present data‑driven results to product stakeholders, explaining and proposing strategies that align with risk appetite and business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with asynchronous messaging systems such as Kafka.
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL query optimization, and schema design.
  • A strong product mindset, prioritizing customer needs and making data‑driven decisions.
  • Strong sense of ownership and excellent communication skills to drive cross‑team projects.
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player.
  • Ability to break down complex projects into incremental milestones delivering customer value.
  • Experience with common design and architectural patterns and passion for writing clean, performant, well‑tested code.
  • Curiosity and drive for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Adherence to and advocacy for best coding practices, continuous delivery, and code reviews.
  • Proven track record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring other engineers.
