The role of the Clinical Team Manager for Specialist Eating Disorders Service (SEDS) is vital to provide expert and strong leadership within SEDS leadership team and wider Eating Disorder Service.

This post will primarily be to contribute to the SEDS leadership team in: Supporting and enhancing the clinical pathway and case management for children and young people with eating disorders, and their families.

Ensuring ED referrals are managed and responded to appropriately through the SEDS care pathway.

Ensuring the service continues to deliver a high quality innovative service for patients, using research, evidence base and good practice guidelines.

It is expected that clinical work will account for at least 60% of the post holder’s time, and will include direct clinical work, associated meetings, liaison etc.

Main duties of the job

To use Clinical Nurse Practitioner skills and expert knowledge to undertake comprehensive assessments of the physical and psycho-social needs of patients with complex eating disorders and to undertake clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, managing a caseload.

Hold a defined clinical caseload of patients with complex eating disorders and co-morbid psychiatric disorders.

Provide clinical oversight and supervision of SEDS clinicians caseloads and care/treatment planning.

Provide advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to patient’s working diagnosis and treatment planning.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • post registration training in relevant eating disorder modality
  • Assessor or mentor training

Experience

  • Experience of working in a mental health MDT
  • Extensive experience of working with eating disorder patients
  • Experience of working in a management or leadership role
  • Experience of supervising more junior staff

£49,387 to £56,515 a year per annum, pro rata
