We’re looking for a Support Worker to join our community team in Whitland, Carmarthenshire, providing companionship and practical support to a remarkable woman in her 90s in her own home.

You’ll help with correspondence, everyday household tasks and general companionship; making a real difference to her day-to-day life. She communicates by speaking and writing, and lives with her son, who has his own support worker. A comfortable pair of hands around two friendly dogs is a must!

This is a permanent role offering 13 per hour and two sessions of 2 hours per week, with the exact schedule to be discussed at interview.

Comprehensive training is provided from day one.

For genuine occupational reasons, we are looking to appoint a female candidate only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010, Part 1, Schedule 9).

What you’ll do

You’ll provide warm, consistent support within the home, including:

  • Correspondence and admin
  • Everyday household tasks
  • Companionship and social support

What we’re looking for

  • Warm, kind and patient you build trust naturally
  • Comfortable and confident in a home environment
  • Happy around dogs
  • Knowledge of BSL or Makaton is a bonus but not essential

Essential requirements

  • Full UK driving licence with use of your own vehicle
  • Business car insurance
