Overview

Deputy General Manager – Manchester

Role: Deputy General Manager, Malmaison. Rate of Pay: Up to 46,000 per year plus Generous Company Benefits, Training & Development. Type of Contract: Permanent. Location: Manchester.

Malmaison is looking for a leader in the making who will develop the team to deliver celebrity service while managing and exceeding brand standards and a strong P&L focus. You will be 18 months (or less) from running your own hotel, with opportunities to shine within a brand that promotes internal advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate the team; drive the brand strategy in all elements of the business to differentiate Malmaison as a preferred employer and destination to stay, eat and drink.
  • Understand the local market and maximise revenue by looking at the bigger picture while managing detail through department managers and frontline teams.
  • Lead from the front and set the example; maintain a strong focus on Health & Safety and effective communication.
  • Manage large teams and, ideally, have sound knowledge of food and drink in a similarly sized property (not a deal breaker if not).

Qualifications

  • Experience managing large teams in a hospitality environment.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations in a property of similar size.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and respond to local market dynamics and revenue opportunities.
