Overview
Principal Consultant – Health and Safety/Human Factors at ERM seeks an experienced Human Factors Principal or Managing Consultant to join our growing team. This is a specialist role within a leading sustainability consultancy where Human Factors and Technical Safety are integrated as core capabilities. Our clients rely on deep technical insight, industry accreditations, and the ability to solve complex challenges across high-hazard sectors.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects, guide clients, and deliver high-quality technical work in Human Factors and related safety disciplines.
- Integrate Human Factors (HFI) in engineering projects, including HFE design reviews, SCTA / QHRA assessments, and other HF integration activities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide niche expertise across health, safety, and human factors in sustainable operations.
Qualifications
- Strong Human Factors & Ergonomics expertise, ideally with oil & gas industry experience and COMAH site exposure.
- Professional accreditation, with CIEHF Chartership highly desirable.
- Experience with Human Factors integration in engineering projects (HFI design reviews, SCTA / QHRA assessments, etc.).
- The ability to lead projects, guide clients, and deliver high-quality technical work.
