The Role

As a Cloud Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of enabling secure, scalable and mission-critical cloud capabilities within our Cloud Engineering team, providing critical support across public, private or hybrid environments. Day-to-day, you’ll work collaboratively with engineering teams to design, deploy, and automate solutions that help deliver next-generation services across complex operational environments.

Responsibilities

  • Building and configuring cloud services to meet business and application requirements
  • Monitoring cloud environments for performance, availability, cost optimisation, and security compliance
  • Developing and maintaining infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates
  • Automating deployment pipelines and CI/CD workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
  • Implementing and enforcing cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption and network security
  • Working closely with development, operations, and security teams to enable smooth application deployments

Essential experience

  • Previous experience in designing, deploying, and managing solutions in AWS
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
  • Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, VPN, load balancers, firewalls, routing)
  • Strong familiarity with AWS services

Essential qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Location and hours

This role is 37 hours per week based at either our Malvern or Farnborough site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.
