Senior IT Security Manager- Interim Role

Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Senior IT Security Manager to take ownership of IT security, compliance, infrastructure operations, and day-to-day IT support across a fast-moving, modern SaaS environment. If you thrive in a hands-on, high-impact role that blends strategic security leadership with practical operational delivery, this is an opportunity to shape and elevate the entire security posture of a growing organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Reactive IT Support (20-25%) – Lead the internal IT helpdesk function, ensuring smooth access management, device setup, SaaS administration, and onboarding/offboarding workflows. Expect a mix of predictable tasks and fast-moving ad-hoc support.
2. Security & Compliance (25-30%) – Serve as the guardian of the organisation’s security posture, monitoring controls, managing audits, reviewing vulnerabilities, handling incident response, and driving continuous compliance across frameworks such as ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials.
3. Infrastructure & Operations (20-25%) – Oversee the device fleet, MDM platforms, network and AV equipment, hardware lifecycle, and vendor relationships. Includes provisioning, policy enforcement, and ensuring operational resilience.
4. Strategic Security Projects (25-30%) – Lead long-term initiatives including security roadmap delivery, policy development, security awareness training, business continuity planning, and vendor risk management.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Managing user access, SaaS tools, and device provisioning
• Monitoring security alerts, email authentication, and vulnerability reports
• Coordinating incident response and cross-functional security escalations
• Maintaining compliance tooling and supporting external audits
• Overseeing MDM, endpoint protection, and zero-trust network tooling
• Running security awareness and phishing simulation programmes
• Managing vendor risk assessments and tooling renewals
• Collaborating with People, Finance, Engineering, and leadership teams
