Overview

This is a Civil Engineer role within the Highways environment. The successful candidate will be involved in a number of projects while delivering a defined role. Duties will be office- and site-based across multiple schemes and disciplines. You will design council highway schemes and oversee on-site delivery with other officers and external contractors, and be part of multi-disciplinary teams delivering the Council’s capital programme and the regional CRSTS programme in partnership with Tees Valley Combined Authority.

Responsibilities

  • Design council highway schemes and oversee on-site delivery with other officers and external contractors.
  • Work as part of multi-disciplinary teams across the Council to deliver the capital programme and the regional CRSTS programme in partnership with Tees Valley Combined Authority.
  • Coordinate works through internal and external stakeholders; document progress on schemes; manage tasks under the Highways Act; and track project financials.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject such as Civil Engineering, with demonstrable experience in a related role.
  • Experience of highway design and delivering highway construction works on site, with the ability to provide practical solutions as issues arise.
  • Knowledge of Highway Design and construction/materials is a key part of the role.
  • Experienced Civil Engineer who can work as part of a small team to deliver high-quality schemes.
