Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is proud to be the Lead Provider of the West Midlands CAMHS Provider Collaborative (WMCPC) also known as TOUCAN. We are the integrated commissioners of provision for specialist mental health, learning disability and autism services for young people aged 12‑18.
We are recruiting to a substantive full‑time position of Senior Case Manager for Residential Children in Care, who will join our Clinical Commissioning Hub. The post holder will work directly with a designated Integrated Care Board supporting Children in Care Case Managers across various settings in the West Midlands, providing support in monitoring quality, safeguarding and gathering commissioning intelligence to improve outcomes for the patient population.
Case management is a recognised national role within the NHS, with a national network of peers to ensure that admission to a Tier 4 bed is appropriate, timely and focused on discharge. Possession of a relevant professional qualification is essential, as is knowledge of wider mental‑health services and Integrated Care System (ICS) structures. Direct experience of working in specialised secure care, forensic services or eating‑disorder settings is desirable. We are looking for someone with significant experience in working with Children in Care and Deprivation of Liberty Orders.
Qualifications
- Relevant professional qualification.
- Experience within specialist inpatient pathways with young people subject to Deprivation of Liberty Orders and residing in residential homes.
- Knowledge of broader mental‑health services and IC System (ICS) frameworks.
- Direct experience in specialised secure care, forensic services, or eating‑disorder settings.
- Significant experience working with Children in Care and implementation of Deprivation of Liberty Orders.
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Experience in quality and clinical governance systems.
