Role

Family Worker x 2 (Fixed-Term – 2 years)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver early help and targeted support to children, young people, and families across Wirral as part of the Family Help service.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) alongside partners in social care, health, and police.
  • Utilise the systemic practice model to build trusted relationships with families, complete assessments, and deliver strengths‑based interventions.
  • Improve parenting capacity, child development, emotional wellbeing, and family resilience with the voice of the child at the centre of planning.
  • Lead elements of Child in Need support and contribute as a Family Help Lead Practitioner within Wirral’s Family Help and Family Hub model.
  • Receive regular supervision, training, and development opportunities and contribute to ongoing service transformation.

About The Candidate

  • Experience working with families in an early help or community setting with a strong understanding of child development, particularly in the early years.
  • Confident working collaboratively across agencies, engaging families who may be reluctant to access support, and managing a varied caseload.
