The Role

As Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of warehouse and transport operations, ensuring goods are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will oversee operational performance, compliance, fleet management, stock control, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a highly visible leadership position offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on a growing business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all warehouse activities including goods-in, goods-out, picking, packing, and dispatch.
  • Optimise warehouse layout, workflow, and space utilisation.
  • Plan and oversee delivery schedules and route optimisation.
  • Manage vehicle maintenance, servicing, MOT schedules, and defect reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with Operator Licence requirements and transport regulations.
  • Recruit, train, and onboard new team members.
  • Establish clear KPIs and performance expectations
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry regulations.
  • Maintain accurate compliance documentation and audit readiness.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a senior warehouse, logistics, transport, or operations management role.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and distribution processes.
  • Experience managing transport operations and fleet compliance.
  • Knowledge of Operator Licence requirements and transport legislation.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and best practice.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build, motivate, and develop successful teams.

Desirable

  • Experience within wholesale, FMCG, drinks, or distribution sectors.
  • Knowledge of tachograph regulations and driver hours compliance.
  • Transport Manager CPC qualification or working towards completion.
