Job Description Are you looking for your next opportunity? Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Vice President, Global Head of Accounts Payable in our Finance Operations team. We are seeking a Global Head of Accounts Payable to lead the execution, governance, and transformation of our Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes across a global, multi-entity organization. Reporting to the Global Head of Finance Operations, this role will drive operational excellence, strengthen financial controls, and support the continued evolution of our finance operating model. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on delivering efficient, standardized, and scalable accounts payable operations across regions. Location: This position will be based out of our London, New York or Purchase New York office.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own and lead the global end-to-end Accounts Payable and Procure-to-Pay process
  • Oversee invoice processing, approval workflows, and payment execution across regions
  • Drive standardization of AP processes, policies, and controls across markets
  • Improve cycle times, reduce manual effort, and enhance operational efficiency
  • Partner with Treasury and Finance to support cash flow optimization and payment strategies
  • Ensure accurate reporting, including AP aging, accruals, and payment forecasting
  • Maintain a strong control environment and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements
  • Lead automation and technology initiatives in partnership with Finance Technology and IT
  • Build and develop a high-performing global team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in accounts payable or finance operations, including leadership roles
  • Strong expertise in Procure-to-Pay processes, controls, and payment operations
  • Experience operating in global, multi-entity environments with complex vendor structures
  • Proven track record of driving process improvement, automation, and standardization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on operational performance
  • Experience working with ERP systems, workflow tools, and financial reporting platforms
  • Ability to influence and partner effectively with senior stakeholders across Finance and the business
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

Compensation and Benefits

U.S. Salary Range: $165,000 to $225,000. Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
