Community Safety Enforcement Officer (Temporary) – Ebley Mill – Stroud
Reference: REQ0298Description: Temporary, fixed term contract for 2 years.As a local authority, we have a responsibility to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB) in the public realm. The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 requires responsible authorities to work with the police and other agencies to reduce crime and disorder in the local area. As a Council, we have a range of powers we can use to tackle ASB in the public realm, which includes but not limited to the three types of ASB: personal, nuisance and environmental. Responsibilities:To support the delivery of proactive and reactive initiatives aimed at tackling nuisance, anti-social behaviour, crime and disorder across the district.To play a key role in reassuring communities, improving resident satisfaction and delivering effective enforcement and prevention activity in partnership with internal teams and external partner organisations.Work collaboratively Stroud District Community Safety Partnership and Community Safety Manager to identify and resolve complex community safety issues.Conduct investigations into fly-tipping across the Stroud District, including gathering, documenting, and presenting evidence to support enforcement actions.Requirements:Experience of working with communitiesExperience of working on project with partners.Ability to undertake the physical aspects of the role i.e. foot patrols, inspecting fly tips, moving equipment.Knowledge of fixed penalty notices and associated processes.To work in partnership with a variety of external stakeholder to support the delivery of the councils priority of safer and stronger communities.Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.This role is based at Ebley Mill (Council HQ) with potential for hybrid/flexible working.For more information about this role please email Damion.collins@stroud.gov.ukCLOSING DATE: 3rd August 2026INTERVIEW DATE: 13th August 2026In exchange for your expertise, experience and enthusiasm we provide a range of staff benefits.
