Hours of work: 36 hours per week

Location: Civic centre and other locations from time to time

Post

To provide administrative support to the specialist teams within the Children’s Social Care Service.

This Will Involve

  • Minute taking at meetings including strategy meetings
  • Ensure robust tracking of statutory panels / meetings
  • Updating systems
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating folders
  • Uploading partner checks and documentation to MOSAIC
  • Acting as the first point of contact within the relevant teams
  • Maintaining professional communications with internal and external customers and partners
  • Effective multi-agency engagement
  • Taking responsibility for all email/post/telephone queries and handling them as appropriate
  • Taking ownership of the business support needs of the allocated service area and having expert knowledge of their business processes

The Person

You will be joining the well‑established Business Support Service. We are passionate about the work we do with children and the support provided to the children and their families.

The role makes positive contributions to the services that Brent provides for children and young people.

The ideal candidate will be resilient and solution‑focused, have strong communication skills (oral and written), excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manners, and the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external partners.

The successful candidate must be highly organised, able to manage their workload, maintain attention to detail, and prioritise work to meet deadlines.

The successful candidate will have good IT skills, be able to use computer systems concurrently, and work on their own initiative, taking a proactive approach.

Minute‑taking experience is essential as the role provides efficient and professional day‑to‑day support to the administrative needs of the service and the Children and Young People and Community Development department.
