Graduate Transport Planner – Transport Planning Scotland (Edinburgh or Glasgow)
We are recruiting for a Graduate Transport Planner to join our Transport Planning Scotland team in Edinburgh or Glasgow.
Role Overview
As a Graduate Transport Planner you will contribute to the successful delivery of transport projects from inception through to detailed design. You will work closely with experienced consultants, analysing and appraising projects and providing day‑to‑day technical input as part of a team of experts.
Responsibilities
- Collect, analyse and appraise data related to transport systems including traffic patterns, public transport usage and demographic data.
- Provide day‑to‑day technical input as part of a team of consultants.
- Produce clear, well‑reasoned and persuasive reports that effectively interpret data and evidence, ensuring findings are communicated effectively to stakeholders.
- Ensure output is completed in accordance with scope, timescales and budgets.
- Work in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines as required to deliver project requirements and add value to the client.
- Engage with the Transport Planning Society’s Professional Development Scheme to progress towards Chartered Transport Planning Professional accreditation.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree for the role.
- Less than 12 months of relevant work experience (excluding placements).
- Confidence using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
- Driven, proactive and solution‑oriented.
- Must be able to work in the UK without restrictions now or in the future.
