Roledescription:
As a SeniorMechanical Engineer, you will deliver key WTA (Warship TechnicalAuthority) service elements across platform systems, includingdesign change, technical assurance, material state and obsolescencemanagement, specialistengineering support, and future support or transformationplanning.
Coreduties:
- Providingmechanical engineering support across diverse platform systems,equipment, and critical marine services
- Delivering engineering input to multiple projects,including CSM platforms and international navalprogrammes
- Working with internal teams andexternal stakeholders to clarify and manage platform systemrequirements
- Maintaining systems designintegrity across varied engineering contexts, classes, andprogramme deployments
- Supportinginvestigations, impact assessments and integration analyses to enableevidence-based technical decisions
- Ensuring safe, efficient implementation of design changeswhile maintaining configuration control and systemintegration
Essentialskills:
- You holdbroad knowledge of complex platform systems acrossUK and international markets
- You will have agood understanding of applicable industry standards and the abilityto operate effectively within CSM, LCM, and other governance andassurance frameworks
- You will have the abilityto apply mechanical engineering knowledge quickly and confidentlyto a wide range of platform and projects across multiple platformsystems and sub-systems and equipment’s
- Youwill be an experienced professional engineer at CEng level orequivalent level of capability
- You provideeffective technical guidance and influence, supporting engineerswith technical oversight, clarity of direction, and opportunitiesfor professional development
The Asset Managementteam:
This role sits within theWarship Technical Authority (WTA) Service Hub, part of the AssetManagement team withinWarship Support, delivering whole ship, systems and equipmentengineering expertiseand change managementto ensure safe, assured and high-quality support across WarshipSupport programmes. The Asset Management Team already supportsQEC, T45, T23, HUNT, OPV and intentional navies.
