Senior Underwriting Portfolio Manager

Edenbrook are partnering with a leading Lloyd’s Insurer in the search for a Senior Underwriting Portfolio Manager to join their Underwriting Performance and Oversight team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced insurance professional to take ownership of complex portfolios while providing operational oversight and Underwriting expertise, and strategic management of outsourced service providers. The role sits at the heart of underwriting operations, partnering closely with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and external stakeholders to ensure the effective analysis and oversight of the underwriting function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight of insurance portfolio analytics, ensuring accuracy and integrity across underwriting, accounting, and claims processes.
• Manage the performance and strategic relationship of outsourced underwriting and operations providers, ensuring service delivery and delegated performance.
• Act as a key liaison between Underwriting, Claims, brokers, cedents, and third-party providers to resolve complex operational and accounting issues.
• Monitor portfolio performance, cashflow activities, and outstanding balances, providing insight and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Support audit, compliance, and governance activities, including internal controls, sanctions screening, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operational processes, reporting, and service delivery.
• Provide expertise and support on complex contracts and portfolios.

Skills & Experience:

• Several years’ experience within insurance performance management, underwriting operations, and portfolio management.
• Experience working within a London market insurer.
• Supported the creation of the SBF strategy.
• Experience with Power BI or other reporting and analytics tools would be advantageous.
