About ACTENIQ

ACTENIQ delivers electrical asset intelligence for industrial and commercial customers across the UK. We install intelligent monitoring systems that help organisations understand energy usage, identify power quality issues, and detect early signs of electrical asset failure before they become critical.

We’re growing quickly and looking for an ambitious engineer who enjoys practical problem solving, modern technology, and working across a wide range of industrial environments.

The Role

This is a varied engineering role combining site installation, commissioning and technical support. You’ll work independently and as part of a wider multi-disciplinary engineering team, supporting projects across industrial and commercial customer sites throughout the UK.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Installing and commissioning monitoring hardware and associated electrical equipment
  • Sensor installation, cabling, terminations, control panel installation and modifications
  • Carrying out routine LV/MV switchgear inspections and condition assessments
  • Producing clear site documentation, reports and handover notes
  • Working closely with internal engineering and technical teams to resolve customer challenges

Most weeks involve 3–4 days on customer sites across the UK.

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need experience in our exact technology as we’ll provide full training to work competently and safely in both LV and HV environments. We’re looking for someone practical, motivated, and comfortable taking ownership of their work.

We’d like to hear from people with:

  • An electrical apprenticeship, engineering qualification, or relevant industry experience
  • Experience working safely on LV electrical systems
  • Good practical installation and fault-finding skills
  • Confidence working independently on customer sites
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Full UK driving licence

Useful Experience (Not Essential)

  • Maintenance and modification of LV/HV switchgear
  • Metering, BMS, controls or instrumentation experience
  • Field service or commissioning experience
  • Interest in industrial technology, energy systems or IoT

Why Join ACTENIQ?

  • Work with modern monitoring and smart energy technologies across varied environments
  • High level of autonomy and responsibility from day one
  • LV/HV training and ongoing technical development
  • Small team environment where your contribution genuinely matter
  • Private Healthcare, Incentive structure & Leading Pension Scheme

Location: Flexible – travel required to sites UK wide

We’re not expecting someone who’s done this exact job before. If you have the electrical fundamentals and the right attitude, we’ll develop the rest together.
