Job Description:

Ready for the next step in your events career?

Perhaps you’ve spent the last few years in delegate sales, audience development, sponsorship sales or business development.

You know how B2B events work.

You’re confident speaking with senior decision-makers.

You know your way around LinkedIn Sales Navigator and a CRM.

You enjoy researching companies, opening conversations and understanding what makes businesses tick.

But you’re looking for something more strategic than simply chasing targets.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to talk.

This isn’t a traditional sales role.

Our marketing team generates interest.

Our Commercial Director builds partnerships and closes deals.

We need someone exceptional in the middle.

Someone who can identify opportunities, qualify enquiries, build commercial intelligence and ensure every conversation starts with the right company, the right contact and the right information.

You’ll become the engine of our commercial team.

Working directly alongside our Commercial Director, you’ll own every commercial opportunity from the moment it enters our business until it’s ready for a commercial discussion.

If you’re naturally curious, commercially minded and enjoy opening doors rather than simply closing contracts, you’ll thrive in this role.

Why we’ve created this position

As Banking Transformation Summit continues to grow internationally, we’re creating a brand-new role designed to strengthen our commercial team.

Last month, more than 900 banking leaders joined us in London.

In November we’re back in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Two further international events launch in 2027.

Our Commercial Director should be spending her time where she adds the greatest value:

  • Building relationships
  • Understanding commercial objectives
  • Developing sponsorship solutions
  • Negotiating partnerships
  • Growing key accounts

Your role is to make sure every opportunity that reaches her is properly researched, qualified and prepared.

What you’ll own

This isn’t about making hundreds of cold calls every week.

It’s about building better commercial opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding rapidly to inbound sponsorship enquiries
  • Speaking with prospective sponsors to understand their objectives
  • Qualifying opportunities before introducing them to our Commercial Director
  • Researching companies, markets and decision-makers
  • Using LinkedIn Sales Navigator to identify and engage target organisations
  • Building commercial intelligence on prospective sponsors
  • Identifying new opportunities within existing accounts
  • Booking qualified commercial meetings
  • Working closely with marketing to improve lead quality and campaign performance
  • Preparing account summaries before commercial meetings
  • Maintaining excellent CRM records and pipeline visibility
  • Supporting proposal preparation and follow-up activity
  • Using AI tools to research companies, improve productivity and uncover commercial opportunities

What success looks like

Success isn’t measured purely by revenue.

It’s measured by creating better commercial opportunities.

You’ll know you’re succeeding when:

  • Every inbound enquiry receives a fast, professional response
  • Our Commercial Director spends almost all of her time with qualified prospects
  • We consistently identify new target companies and decision-makers
  • Marketing and sales work seamlessly together
  • Our CRM contains accurate, valuable commercial intelligence
  • More sponsorship conversations convert into long-term partnerships
  • Nothing falls through the cracks

Who we’re looking for

You’ll probably have experience in one or more of the following:

  • Delegate Sales
  • Audience Development
  • Sponsorship Sales
  • Exhibition Sales
  • Event Partnerships
  • Business Development
  • Commercial Events

Most importantly, you’ll enjoy:

  • Talking to people
  • Asking great questions
  • Understanding businesses
  • Researching organisations
  • Building relationships
  • Spotting commercial opportunities
  • Being highly organised
  • Working with technology to become more effective

You’ll be naturally curious, proactive and commercially aware.

You’ll enjoy helping others succeed just as much as achieving your own goals.

What we’d love you to bring

  • Experience working within conferences, exhibitions, media or B2B events
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills
  • Confidence speaking with senior business leaders
  • Strong LinkedIn Sales Navigator experience
  • CRM experience (HubSpot preferred)
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • The ability to research businesses and identify decision-makers
  • Confidence using AI to improve research, prospecting and productivity

Why join us?

You’ll work directly with our Commercial Director and marketing team.

You’ll influence which companies sponsor one of the industry’s leading banking technology events.

You’ll learn commercial strategy, sponsorship development and partnership management from experienced professionals.

You’ll help shape a fast-growing international event portfolio.

You’ll work in a business that actively embraces AI, automation and smarter ways of working.

Most importantly, you’ll join a team that believes great commercial results come from curiosity, preparation and relationships – not simply making more calls.

Location

Remote (UK).

Travel to our UK and US events, along with occasional team meetings.

Some flexibility around working hours will be required as we work with clients across UK and US time zones.

Salary & Benefits

  • £35,500 – £45,000 basic salary, depending on experience
  • Performance-related bonus
  • International travel
  • Remote working
  • The opportunity to grow with an ambitious international events business

This could be the perfect next step if you’ve built your career in B2B events and are ready to broaden your commercial skills.

If you’re excited by building relationships, uncovering opportunities and helping shape the commercial success of a growing international events business, we’d love to hear from you.
