Architectural BRPD

Company: The Annoying Recruiter
Apply for the Architectural BRPD
Location:
Job Description:

Every architect has heard of the Building Safety Act. So why are most of them still drawing stairs in Revit?

If you stay stuck in an architectural practice, where will you be in five years’ time? Nowhere near where you’ll be financially, in terms of your title and progression if you’d moved to building safety.

Building Safety needs thousands more BRPDs over the next five years. You could easily be head of a sizable team by then. All it takes is getting in early.

Progression isn’t the only thing you’ll take advantage of. You’ll work from home as often as you like, with flexible start and finish times and twice yearly pay reviews from day one. Private healthcare, an enhanced pension, 26 days plus bank holidays, and 26 weeks full pay maternity and enhanced paternity leave.

You already know building regulations, and how compliance works because you’ve been close to the design process. That knowledge doesn’t become less valuable here, it’s where it’s valued the very most.

You don’t need to have done the PD role end to end yet to work here. If you’ve assisted a duty holder or managed sections of a compliance register, that’s the foundation they want to build on. The progression from here is wide open.

Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester or Newcastle. The location is optional.

What you’ll be doing

  • Advising architects, developers and contractors on BRPD obligations throughout projects.
  • Managing and maintaining compliance across a portfolio.
  • Reviewing design information and flagging issues early.
  • Acting as a BRPD contact for clients and design teams.

What you’ll need

  • An architectural background as an Architect, Architectural Technologist or Technician.
  • Some exposure to BRPD work: assisting a duty holder or managing sections of an appropriate tracker.
  • Comfortable working directly with clients and design teams in a strong consultative position.
