The Opportunity
A highly regarded Top 100 UK law firm is seeking an ambitious Senior Associate or Legal Director to join its growing Employment team in Bristol.
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced employment lawyer who is looking for more than just another senior fee-earning role. The firm offers a clear route to partnership and is seeking an individual who wants to play a key role in expanding and shaping a successful Employment practice across Bristol and the wider South West.
Whether you already have a modest client following or are looking for the platform, support and infrastructure to develop one, this role offers significant autonomy, visibility and long-term career progression.
The Role
You will work closely with senior leadership to develop the firm’s Employment offering in the Bristol market, advising a broad range of employer clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a varied employment law caseload for employer clients.
- Building and developing strong client relationships.
- Driving business development initiatives and contributing to revenue growth.
- Identifying opportunities to expand the firm’s presence across the South West.
- Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers within the team.
- Collaborating with partners and colleagues across multiple practice areas to generate cross-referral opportunities.
- Contributing to the strategic direction and growth plans of the Employment practice.
- Handling Employment Tribunal litigation where required.
About You
You will be:
- A qualified Employment Solicitor with 6+ years’ PQE.
- Currently operating at Senior Associate, Principal Associate, Legal Director or equivalent level.
- Commercially minded with strong client relationship and business development skills.
- Interested in helping grow a practice and develop a team.
- Able to demonstrate a track record of winning work and building client relationships.
- Experienced in managing matters independently and supervising junior lawyers.
- Entrepreneurial in approach and motivated by long-term career progression.
An existing client following would be advantageous but is not essential.
