Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Electrical/Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our client’s growing Building Services team in Glasgow. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across the education, healthcare, industrial, leisure, and data centre sectors. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical building services designs from concept through to completion, working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and specification of electrical building services systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, security systems, and data infrastructure
  • Produce detailed calculations, reports, specifications, and technical drawings
  • Develop designs using industry-standard software including AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design calculation packages
  • Attend client meetings, site visits, and design team workshops
  • Coordinate designs with mechanical, structural, and architectural disciplines
  • Support project delivery to agreed timescales, budgets, and quality standards
  • Assist with technical reviews, value engineering, and sustainability initiative
  • Ensure designs comply with current UK regulations, standards, and best practice

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Experience in electrical building services design consultancy
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, BS 7671, and relevant industry standard
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical calculation package
  • Experience designing LV power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm, and small power systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skill
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
