PE Global is recruiting an experienced Fitter (Tooling and Maintenance) for a 6-month contract with a leading manufacturing organisation based in Manchester.
This role will involve the maintenance, refurbishment, assembly, and installation of mould tooling, alongside supporting production through machine and tooling set-ups. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, product quality, and production efficiency.

Contract: 6 Months
Pay Rate: £17.84 per hour + 15% Shift Allowance

Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and fit new mould tooling and associated equipment.
- Carry out maintenance and refurbishment of mould tools using manual machine tools including milling machines, lathes, and radial arm drills.
- Perform mould changes and machine set-ups as required.
- Interpret engineering drawings and suggest tooling improvements.
- Conduct basic equipment maintenance and support continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE and quality procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Time-served engineering apprenticeship (City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- General fitting experience, including tooling refurbishment.
- Experience operating a variety of manual machine tools.
- Experience with mould changes on rubber injection moulding machines.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good HSE awareness and computer literacy.
Desirable
- ONC/HNC in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
- Multi-skilled manual machining experience.
- Experience setting parameters on rubber injection moulding machines.
- Previous experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
