Amazon Inventory & Forecasting Manager
Location: Manchester
Contract: 18-month FTC (Mat Cover)
Spectrum Brands is a ~$3B global consumer products company with a portfolio of trusted, market-leading brands including Remington, Russell Hobbs, Black & Decker, George Foreman and PowerXL. Operating across multiple categories and channels, the business combines strong brand heritage with a focus on growth, innovation, and expanding its direct-to-consumer presence.
We’re looking for an Amazon Inventory & Forecasting Manager (18-month FTC) to own Amazon inventory performance. Using your expertise in Amazon Vendor Central, forecasting and inventory analytics, you’ll challenge demand signals, optimise stock levels and work closely with Planning teams to ensure the right inventory is in the right place at the right time.
The Role
You’ll spend the majority of your time analysing Amazon inventory and weekly purchase orders, ensuring orders reflect genuine consumer demand rather than simply accepting every request.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own Amazon inventory planning, forecasting and stock optimisation.
- Analyse weekly Amazon purchase orders, determining which orders should be accepted based on inventory position, weeks of cover and forecast demand.
- Challenge Amazon ordering patterns where inventory levels are excessive or demand signals are inaccurate.
- Work collaboratively with Amazon to improve inventory signals within Vendor Central.
- Partner with Supply Planning and Demand Planning teams to ensure inventory availability aligns with forecasted demand.
- Produce insightful reporting on inventory performance, forecast accuracy, sell-through and weeks of cover.
- Develop dashboards and data analysis to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Manage the Amazon Direct Fulfilment (Dropship) programme, ensuring operational KPIs consistently exceed Amazon targets.
- Lead operational issue resolution including logistics escalations, missed collections and shipment performance.
- Investigate operational chargebacks and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Monitor and improve Amazon operational metrics, identifying root causes and driving continuous improvement.
- Manage product suppressions, ensuring listings remain compliant and available.
- Own Amazon packaging certification programmes (SIOC/SIPP) and identify opportunities to reduce operational costs.
- Work cross-functionally with Commercial, Supply Chain, Customer Service and Amazon stakeholders to drive operational excellence.
Abou You
We’re looking for a highly analytical supply chain professional who enjoys solving problems using data.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience managing Amazon inventory, ideally through Amazon Vendor Central
- Strong forecasting and demand planning experience
- Excellent inventory management and stock optimisation knowledge
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
- Experience analysing sell-through, weeks of cover and inventory health
- Strong commercial awareness with confidence to challenge ordering decisions using data
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence internal and external partners
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Experience within FMCG, consumer goods or retail
- Experience with Amazon Direct Fulfilment (Dropship)
- Knowledge of Amazon operational metrics, chargebacks and product suppressions
- Experience working with ERP, inventory management and planning systems
You’ll join a collaborative, fast-paced business where you’ll have genuine ownership of Amazon inventory performance. This is an opportunity to shape processes, influence key decisions and work closely with cross-functional teams to drive operational improvements across one of our largest customers.
If you’re passionate about forecasting, inventory optimisation and using analytics to improve performance, we’d love to hear from you.
