Estimator – Architectural Steelwork
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £45,000–£60,000 + benefits package

From bespoke metalwork packages to complex architectural steel installations, this business turns ambitious designs into practical, buildable solutions.
With a strong pipeline of enquiries, they are looking for an Estimator who can see beyond the drawings, understand the fabrication process, and build commercially sound tenders that win work.
You’ll work closely with clients, designers, engineers and fabrication teams to make sure every estimate balances creativity, practicality and cost.
What you’ll be doing
- Prepare detailed estimates and tender submissions for architectural steelwork packages
- Review architectural drawings, specifications and enquiry documentation
- Complete material take-offs for bespoke metalwork including staircases, balustrades, feature steelwork and façades
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering options during the tender stage
- Support the handover of successful projects to delivery teams
What they’re looking for
Must have:
- Previous estimating experience within architectural steelwork or metalwork
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes for bespoke metalwork packages
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Experience producing accurate material take-offs and cost breakdowns
- Good understanding of fabrication and installation methods
Nice to have:
- Experience pricing complex architectural features and bespoke packages
- Familiarity with estimating software and digital take-off tools
- Experience working directly with architects, designers and main contractors
