The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employment Solicitor 4 PQE+ to join a highly regarded and growing Employment team at a leading commercial law firm.

Recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, the team advises a diverse client base including SMEs, owner-managed businesses, corporate clients, HR professionals and senior executives. The Role

You will advise clients on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including:

  • Employment Tribunal litigation, including whistleblowing, discrimination and unfair dismissal claims
  • Senior executive appointments, exits and restrictive covenant matters
  • Restructures, redundancies and TUPE projects
  • Settlement agreements and workplace investigations
  • Confidential information disputes and urgent injunctive relief
  • Day-to-day employment law and HR advisory work

You will act as a trusted adviser to clients, providing commercially focused and practical solutions while managing matters from inception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied employment caseload across both contentious and non-contentious matters
  • Providing strategic employment law advice to employers, HR teams and senior leadership teams
  • Conducting and supporting Employment Tribunal litigation
  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies and settlement agreements
  • Supervising and mentoring junior team members and trainees
  • Contributing to client training, legal updates and knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Supporting business development and client relationship activities

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Qualified Solicitor with 4 PQE + in Employment Law
  • Strong experience managing employment matters independently
  • Excellent technical knowledge across contentious and non-contentious employment law
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and client management skills
  • A commercial and pragmatic approach to legal advice
  • Experience supervising junior lawyers is advantageous
  • Advocacy experience would be beneficial but is not essential
  • A proactive approach to business development and networking
