An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join Crown Holdings at its award-winning manufacturing operation in Peterborough.
This role offers the chance to work within a modern, fast-paced production environment, maintaining and optimising advanced back-end manufacturing equipment while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency and performance of production machinery. Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities, minimise downtime, and support ongoing operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining and optimising back-end production machinery.
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults efficiently.
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance activities.
- Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety and quality standards.
- Working collaboratively with production and engineering teams to maximise plant performance.
- Identifying opportunities to improve machinery efficiency and reduce downtime.

About You
The successful candidate will be a proactive, hands-on engineer with strong mechanical fault-finding skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Level 3 Mechanical Apprenticeship, NVQ or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous experience working with production machinery and manufacturing equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- A proactive approach to maintenance and equipment reliability.
- Commitment to health, safety and quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
