This is not a traditional finance role. Instead, you’ll act as a trusted adviser to owner-managed businesses, using proven financial analysis tools and structured consulting methodologies to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
The Financial Consultant position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced finance professionals who enjoy working directly with business owners but want broader exposure than a typical Finance Director or Financial Controller role can provide.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Advising SME business owners on financial performance and commercial decision making
- Identifying profit improvement opportunities through structured analysis
- Supporting growth planning and strategic development initiatives
- Helping clients improve cash flow, margins, and operational performance
- Building trusted relationships with business owners and leadership teams
- Working closely with partner accountancy firms to support their client base
- Delivering practical recommendations that create measurable commercial outcomes
What We’re Looking For
We’re particularly interested in individuals with backgrounds such as:
- Finance Director, Fractional FD, Financial Controller, Head of Finance, Commercial Finance Manager, Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Finance Manager
You may be qualified, qualified by experience, or have developed your expertise through commercial leadership roles.
Most importantly, you’ll be comfortable discussing business performance with owners and capable of translating financial information into practical commercial advice.
