• £50,000 per annum upon successful Ofsted registration
• Plus annual bonus of up to £3,000, subject to criteria
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Registered Manager to lead a 2-bed therapeutic Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) Children’s Residential Home in Derby.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proven Registered Manager who has previously achieved successful Ofsted registration and is passionate about delivering high-quality therapeutic care and positive outcomes for children and young people.
Please note that this position is not suitable for candidates seeking progression into a Registered Manager role, as the home already has a Trainee Deputy Manager in post. We are specifically seeking an experienced Registered Manager who can immediately take responsibility for the leadership, compliance, and day-to-day operation of the service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the home operates in line with Children’s Homes Regulations, Ofsted requirements, and organisational standards, whilst creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for young people.
Key Requirements
• Previous successful Ofsted registration as a Registered Manager
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, Children, Young People and Families Manager, or equivalent Level 5 qualification
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or management position within children’s residential care
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Thorough understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations and safeguarding practices
• Experience working with children and young people within residential childcare settings
• Experience supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) is highly desirable
• Ability to successfully pass Ofsted Fit Person Interview and registration process
• Full UK driving licence
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of a 2-bed therapeutic children’s home
• Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding standards, and company policies
• Promote positive outcomes and therapeutic care for children and young people
• Lead, motivate, and develop the staff team
• Maintain high standards of care, quality assurance, and service delivery
• Work collaboratively with external agencies, families, and professionals
• Manage staffing, performance, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota, providing emergency support approximately one week in every five
