Role Summary

We are seeking a highly organised and technically capable Acoustic Test Equipment & Facilities Operations Lead to manage the day-to-day operation of whole vehicle acoustics laboratories, specialist test equipment, calibration activities, logistics and engineering support. The role ensures engineers have reliable, calibrated and compliant equipment and facilities to support vehicle development programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the lifecycle of acoustic test equipment including booking, issue, return, repair and replacement.

• Coordinate calibration of microphones, accelerometers, data acquisition systems and specialist NVH equipment.

• Manage maintenance and operational readiness of acoustic test facilities including semi-anechoic chamber, shake rigs and simulation cells.

• Maintain equipment booking systems, asset databases and EU logistics records.

• Coordinate shipment of test equipment and vehicles.

• Ensure compliance with PAT testing, COSHH, risk assessments and 6S standards.

• Produce monthly reports on utilisation, calibration, maintenance and asset performance.

• Drive process improvements through automation and robust equipment management.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Acoustics, Physics or related discipline.

Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience in engineering laboratory operations, test equipment management, calibration, automotive R&D, NVH laboratories or similar engineering environments is mandatory.

Desirable

Experience with HEAD Acoustics, LMS systems, acoustic measurement equipment, Power BI, automotive NVH testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
