Job Description:

About the Company:

EdPsychs have been successfully providing psychological support to schools since 2009. We have a team of:

  • Educational Psychologists (EPs)
  • Clinical Psychologists
  • Counselling Psychologists
  • Psychiatrists
  • Assistant Psychologists (APs)
  • Educational professionals (including head teachers and SENCos)

We work in schools in London and Birmingham at student, school and community level. Some of our current project work includes:

  • Setting up whole school values and house systems in state schools
  • Setting up Alternative Provisions in London and Birmingham
  • Working with SEMH schools to develop seven different curriculum pathways and offers for students
  • Running whole school wellbeing programmes for students, teachers, parents and SLT
  • Providing placements for trainee psychologists with professional supervision
  • Increasing school places, uptake and student retention (we are central to the financial development and fundraising for a number of schools)
  • Completing in school research projects

We have had a lot of new schools asking for contracts for a September 2026 start, as we have been running many of the suggested areas in the white paper for years.

As such we are seeking to appoint EPs for either our London or our Birmingham schools.

The exact needs of schools varies, but you will need to:

  • Have the ability to work at a whole school level to empower and develop schools
  • Be able to work in and contribute to our multi-professional psychology service
  • Be strategic, ethical, values driven and psychological and have the temperament and personality to empower our team
  • Be skilled at training, assessments (both qualitative and quantitative), evidence based consultations and supervision. You will receive training and supervision on these
  • Be able to supervise APs and be part of the whole team ethos to work together and contribute to psychologist training, supervision and support

You must be a HCPC registered practitioner psychologist, with a deep desire to work systemically within an under our care model to help schools and communities grow and develop.

We have eleven of our former APs working with us as professional psychologists (educational, clinical, counselling and organisational) and we welcome applications from previous members of the team as you know how much of the company infrastructure works.

Our daily rate is £575 a day from September 2026, and it is mostly direct work.

You have full direction and control to support the school in the best co-constructed ways that you can within HCPC and BPS guidelines, and we put a lot of time into matching psychologists and schools.
