Job Title: Senior Practitioner – Children’s Help & Protection

Location: Coventry City Council

Pay Rate: 33.30 per hour (Umbrella)

Working Pattern: Hybrid/Flexible

About the Role

Coventry City Council is currently recruiting a Senior Practitioner to join the Children’s Help and Protection Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Practitioner. You will support vulnerable children and families while driving high standards of practice, safeguarding, and intervention across the service.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of approximately 20 children
• Work across Children in Need and Child Protection
• Undertake high-quality assessments, planning, and reviews
• Provide leadership, support, and guidance within the team
• Ensure interventions are timely, effective, and outcome-focused
• Prepare professional reports for meetings, reviews, and court where required
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes

Skills & Experience

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
• Ideally 3+ years’ post-qualified experience
• Strong background in Children’s Help & Protection and safeguarding
• Proven experience managing complex caseloads
• Confident decision-maker with strong analytical and report-writing skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
